Technician Gains the Upper Hand on Cell Tower

After having his hand pinned under some steel cell tower equipment, a Nebraska technician was able to safely extricate himself with the assistance of the York Fire Department. The man had ascended the York, NE cell tower to conduct updates when he found himself stuck.

According to NCN Nebraska, the Fairmont Fire and Rescue, Fillmore County Sheriff Department, and York County 911 were quick to respond to the technician’s plight.

“Everything went well. Everybody worked well together,” said York Fire Chief, Tony Bestwick. “We were talking to each other on the radio so everything went pretty smooth.”

Once on the ground, the man was transported to a medical facility in Lincoln where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
